Attach the body of this valve spring compressor toolto the head with the two supplied short bolts. Thenput the retainer cap on the spring or retainer you want remove. AfterTightening the long bolt,release the the tension on the bolt by unscrewing it and remove the retainer cap to remove the spring.

This tool can be used with the head on the block.
