LOCATION OF LISTENING POINTS

1. OIL DIPSTICK TUBE – for leakage from damaged or worn rings and/or cylinder wall.
2. RADIATOR FILLER – for cylinder wall cracks or head gasket leakage.
3. ADJACENT CYLINDER – for head gasket leakage.
4. TAIL PIPE – for exhaust valve leakage.
5. CARBURETTOR AIR INLET – for inlet valve leakage.
6. FUEL INJECTION THROTTLE BODY – for inlet valve leakage.

NOTE

1. Please wear gloves and goggles when use.
2. This cylinder leakage test kit should be used by professional or under the guidance of a professional.
3. Always refer to equipment manufacturer’s operation instruction, compare to the manufacturer’s recommended readings.
4. Select neutral (or “park” if automatic transmission) and keep hands clear of the engine as engine rotation may occur when using this tool. The ignition MUST BE turned off.
5. Turn regulator knob fully anticlockwise before connecting to compressed air.
6. Require an air pressure of 45 to 100psi. Ensure the air supply is clean and does not exceed the pressure quoted.
7. This cylinder leak tester is not suitable for shallow cylinder. Please check your cylinder first before bidding.
8. Unscrew the adapter after the cylinder is cooled to prevent the hose from softening and not driving the adapter to rotate together.

ENGINE CYLINDER LEAKAGE TEST: JIFETOR cylinder leak gauge set is designed to detect a variety of common engine faults including: worn piston rings, worn valves, cracks in cylinder walls and blown head gaskets. Available with either single gauge shows % of cylinder leakage, or twin gauge manifold show cylinder leakage and cylinder pressure. Suitable for any gasoline engine with 14, 12 or 10mm spark plugs. WORKING PRINCIPLE OF LEAKDOWN DETECTOR: Once the leakage tester has been connected to one of the cylinders, compressed air (45-100psi) is fed into that particular cylinder through the built in pressure regulator. Diagnosis is made by observing the amount of leakage that is indicated on the cylinder leakage gauge and by listening for leakage at various points of the cars system. Please note: This cylinder leak tester is not suitable for shallow cylinder.
DUAL PRESSURE GAUGES ASSEMBLY: There are American style air plug, pressure regulating valve, aluminum manifold body, cylinder pressure gauge, cylinder leakage gauge, 19″ long rubber nylon resin hose with quick coupler on the assembly.
